Spooner’s Café, Bar & Grill welcomes you all day. We are open for breakfast from 09.00hrs and serve freshly cooked meals until 21.00hrs, with the bar open until late 364 days a year, we take Christmas Day off! (times may vary when trains aren’t running).
Café:
We serve a selection of freshly ground bean to cup coffees and teas and soft drinks throughout the day. Our day starts with freshly cooked breakfast; you can build your own breakfast from our selection of cooked to order breakfast items. We also serve home baked croissants, yoghurt, fruit and cereals and no railway café would be a railway cafe without the bacon bap! Later in the day we serve light snacks, freshly prepared sandwiches and toasties. For something more substantial cooked to order lunches including burgers, fish, and home cooked ham are available. During the day we are also a Coffee Shop with an amazing array of cakes and pastries to tempt you. Finally, if you are in a hurry to catch a train we do a grab and go service too!
Grill:
From 16.00hrs we offer our evening menu until 21.00hrs. As many as possible of our ingredients are locally sourced, including our meat and fresh produce; these ingredients are then transformed into mouth watering meals by our chefs for your enjoyment.
Bar:
Our award winning bar serves up to eight real ales at any one time, including both local ales and nationally recognised brands. Naturally, we also serve a large selection of lagers and other beers, spirits and soft drinks, as well as a reasonably priced wine list, some of which are available by the glass. We are especially proud of our selection of Malt Whisky’s and Craft Gins.
We seat nearly 100 people inside and 72 people on our outside terrace on the platform. So there’s usually space for all.
